Paper, spreadsheets and twelve group chats?

If any of these sound like your madressa, here’s what changes when it all lives in one place.

How running a madressa changes with SahlMS
The jobThe questionWith SahlMS
RegistersAre you using a paper sheet per class, typed up later, if at all?Taken on the teacher’s phone in a minute. Attendance is ready before the first lesson ends
AbsencesDo parents message whichever teacher they know?Parents report it in their app. It appears on that evening’s register
FeesAre you using a receipt book, a spreadsheet and awkward conversations at the door?Invoices made for you, every payment recorded, polite reminders sent for what’s overdue
ParentsAre announcements getting lost in busy group chats?Messages, homework and reports in one place for each family, with read receipts
TeachersIs anyone quite sure who turned up tonight?Teachers sign in and out on a kiosk or their phone. Cover is easy to spot
Fire drillAre you using a clipboard and a lot of shouting? One hold of a button gives every class a live roll call of who’s on site
End of yearAre reports written from memory in a weekend?Attendance, homework and exam results pulled into each child’s report for you

One evening, start to finish

Follow a weekday at a madressa: from teachers arriving to the last message home. This is the system doing each job at its hour.

Teachers sign in

Teachers tap in on a tablet by the door, or on their own phone. The office sees who’s here, who’s late and which class needs cover.

  • Kiosk PIN, phone or the office can log it
  • Weekly hours and absences for every teacher
  • DBS numbers and expiry dates kept with their record

Registers, in a minute

Each teacher marks their class on their phone: present, late or absent. Children whose parents already sent a note are marked for them.

  • Classic marks or DfE attendance codes
  • Authorised and unauthorised absences, minutes late

Parents tell you, not the group chat

Parents send “absent today” or “running late” from their phone. It lands on the right register, and the office can reply in the same thread.

  • Absence and late notices, holiday requests
  • Messages between parents, teachers and the office, with rules you control
  • Lock a thread when a conversation is finished

Homework goes home

Teachers set homework for a class or a few children. Parents see it that evening and can upload a recording or a photo of the work.

  • Deadlines, locking after the due date, file uploads
  • Reminders for work not handed in
  • A yearly record for every child

Fire drill, in one hold

  • A saved record of every drill

Questions schools ask

Something we haven’t answered? Ask us directly or read all the questions.

How much does it cost?

Nothing during early access. We’ll publish pricing before launch and tell early-access schools first, so you can decide whether to carry on. Early-access madressas keep their launch price fixed for as long as they stay with us.

What happens when early access ends?

You choose whether to continue. Your records are yours: you can download students, contacts, fees and registers as spreadsheets at any time.

Can you move our records from spreadsheets or another system?

Yes, and it’s free. Send us what you have and we’ll import your students, parents, classes and fees, then check everything with you before teachers and parents are invited.

Is it UK GDPR compliant? Who can see the children’s details?

Yes. Parents see only their own children, teachers see only the classes they teach, and you decide what each office user can do. Important changes are recorded in an audit log.

Do parents and teachers need to download an app?

No. Everything works in the phone’s web browser and can be added to the home screen like an app. It also works on tablets, laptops and desktop computers.

Our volunteers aren’t very technical. Will they manage?

Taking a register is one tap per child, and parents report an absence in a few taps. We’ll help you set up and train your team in the first weeks.

Give your teachers their evenings back

Less chasing, typing and searching. More time for the children and the Quran.
